calling for space [poem]

space to breathe
space to be
space,
lord

om namah shivaya

I ask not of any earthly lover
but of god

take me to a place
amongst sturdy pines
cedar, spruce
to sacred hills
silver boulders

Howling old wind, become

blowing bells, bansuri
water cold, original ice
discipline

Himalayan stream

om namah shivaya

I ask not of any earthly lover
but of god

take me to a place
amongst ochre earth
sienna sand
to the dunes
turquoise, cacti

Howling old wind, become

whistling rattle whips
ancient earth, eternal light
surrender

Desert being

om namah shivaya

I ask not of any earthly lover
but of god

make me space

space to breathe
space to be
space,
lord
